Le Querce

Villa Le Querce, as the name implies (Le Querce: the Oaks), is surrounded by woods of ancient oaks, in rolling Tuscan countryside just outside the medieval walled town of Lucignano. This fabulous home offers a very high standard of comfort and style guaranteeing a super holiday. The building dates back to the 17th century and has been renovated with a huge amount of excellent taste – you will feel at home from the moment you arrive and may well have trouble leaving when the time comes!

All the original large rooms have been maintained giving a wonderful spacious feeling throughout the villa. Full of beautiful locally made furniture, much of it polished oak and some of it antique, cool terracotta floors with faded coloured rugs scattered around, soft lighting, exposed beams, open fireplaces, shelves brimming with interesting books and much more Villa Le Querce can only be a hit with its guests.

Spread out over 2 floors, the ground floor is home to a pretty sitting room with an archway that leads to a dining area. Satellite TV, stereo, DVD/CD player are all to be found in the lounge should you be looking for some light entertainment at any time. The Tuscan kitchen will make you want to rush home and do a re-fit as it is perfectly designed and beautifully decorated making cooking a pleasure! It has, of course, all the necessary equipment needed to rustle up some good pasta dishes with oven, hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine as standard equipment. Also found on the ground floor is a twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.

Upstairs there is a second sitting room - very prettily furnished, this is a great space should someone wish to relax and simply enjoy a book or some quiet conversation. Leading off this area you will find the master double bedroom, another double bedroom and one twin bedroom all with their own en-suite bathrooms.

If you think that the inside of Villa Le Querce is just perfect, wait until you see the gardens! Private and very carefully maintained, you may wander to your heart’s content in the woods and across the lawns to the glorious pool and spectacular pool house. A large covered and thoughtfully furnished dining area sits on the edge of the glistening pool making all meal times a real delight. To facilitate the cooking, there is a built-in barbeque plus a small but fully equipped kitchenette so that there is no need to go back and forth to the house for food and drink. A shower and WC complete this area making it completely independent and probably where you will spend a lot of your time.

Should you be able to pull yourself away from this paradise, there are many towns and villages to visit within easy driving distance. Siena, Arezzo, San Gimignano and Florence can all be visited and you may also venture into Umbria if you are feeling adventurous. The area of Lucingnano is very well-known for its wine production in Tuscany so you also have, practically on your doorstep, many cantinas where you can taste some of the delicious wines of the region and then buy a couple of bottles and take them back to your position by the pool - now that is real luxury!
