Trullo Iduna

This beautiful, 200-year-old trullo has been lovingly restored over a long period the thoughtful owners have ensured everything is completed to the highest standard the refurbishment has updated the property while maintaining the wonderful Pugliese charm and character so unique to this area.

Surrounded by the glorious countryside and gardens, entrance to Trullo Iduna takes you into the sitting room with its pretty coned ceiling, whitewashed walls, rustic fireplace and stylish furnishings. The dining room is divided from the lounge by an archway with plenty of space to dine in the cool of the trullo these buildings have extra thick walls and beautiful stone floors ensuring they are kept at an optimum temperature both in the summer and winter. The kitchen leads off to the right of the lounge and is well equipped with hob, oven, fridge-freezer and dishwasher.

Leading from the kitchen on the far right is a double bedroom and large shower room. To the left of the lounge is the other double bedroom, small single bedroom and a small WC with shower (the second double and single are separated by a curtain. All the sleeping accommodation is very tastefully furnished and comfort has been carefully taken into consideration throughout the property.

The interior space at Trullo Iduna is lovely and the outside area stunning you will undoubtedly spend most of your time on the covered terrace, where you can dine in the shade and enjoy the glorious country views, breath in the clear, fresh air, and when you need to cool down, take a dip in the lovely swimming pool. There are sun-beds around on the edge of the pool, perfect to read your book or take a snooze in the Pugliese sunshine.

We are now offering Iduna all year-round for a unique Pugliese experience. Iduna is a great place to get away from city life and let your mind breathe.

In the autumn there are lovely walks close to Iduna and bikes can be hired to take advantage of the cooler weather. After a walk or cycle you can return to enjoy roasting chestnuts on the open fire while enjoying a glass of local wine. In spring time you can enjoy the spring asparagus harvest along with many other local vegetables. Franco, the owner of Iduna will be also pleased, upon request, to show you some local hidden gems, such as to the Gothic Basilica of Santa Caterina d’Alessandria in the old town of Galatina, one of only three existing examples of interiors entirely covered by 15th century frescoes.
