Vinci has always been a place to visit for art lovers on their Tuscany holidays with the Leonardo Museum being one of the city’s main attractions. The museum, known as the ‘Museo Leonardiano di Vinci’, is now expanding with a new section entitled ‘Leonardo and Anatomy’ set to open on the 22nd October.
The section will exhibit Leonardo’s scientific studies on anatomy, adding to an already vast and interesting collection showcasing at the museum. The exhibition will include engaging, educational activities for both adults and children that highlight Da Vinci’s fascination with the human body. In addition, the new ‘Leonardo and Anatomy’ section will include thematic tours.
The museum is known for its many family-geared initiatives, like interactive children’s books, which makes it a perfect attraction to visit on family holidays to Tuscany. Another intriguing activity is the Domenica Leonardiana which takes place on selected Sundays. The Domenica Leonardiana encourages children to think like an artist, scientist or engineer in creative activities.
Other exhibitions in the museum includes full-scale reproductions of Da Vinci’s paintings and digital reconstructions of projects and machines. Visitors can learn all about Da Vinci with several facts and anecdotes about his life.
